Spain is battling a historic drought after recording its driest and hottest April on record last month. The country’s water reservoirs have dropped to below 50 percent of capacity, while levels have slumped to around 25 percent in the worst-hit regions of Andalusia and Catalonia. The drought is a catastrophe for the country’s critical agricultural sector, which is anticipating a huge drop in its yearly production.
