Walt Disney
Walt Disney was an American animator and entrepreneur who co-founded The Walt Disney Company and pioneered advances in animation, family entertainment, and theme park design.
Disney and his brother Roy founded their animation studio in 1923, achieving early success with the character Mickey Mouse, introduced in the 1928 short film Steamboat Willie, one of the first cartoons with synchronized sound.
In 1937, Disney released Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the first full-length cel-animated feature film, a risky and expensive gamble that became a massive success and established feature animation as commercially viable.
Disney later expanded into theme parks, opening Disneyland in California in 1955, pioneering the modern theme park industry. The company he built continues to be one of the world's largest media and entertainment conglomerates.
