Republican Rep. Andy Ogles demanded a congressional probe after Bad Bunny’s recent Super Bowl LX performance calling it “pure smut,” and claiming it contained “unspeakable depravities.”
Those depravities were apparently so unspeakable that you won’t be hearing the FCC speak of them at all. Because, apparently, they didn’t exist.
According to multiple reports, the FCC, led by Trump appointed Brendan Carr, did review the show and found that it did not violate any applicable decency regulations.
Bad Bunny’s performance was in Spanish, and there were many complaints from folks who said they couldn’t understand them. Still, the singer faced accusations, with politicians like Ogles leading the way, that the Spanish lyrics he used were vulgar.
But the New York Post’s Charle Gasparino reported that the FCC found that was not the case and that the songs were instead “scrubbed of the lyrics that normally include references to sex acts and genitalia.” Gasparino wrote that the FCC has closed the matter “barring further evidence.”
The Tennessee Holler tagged Ogles on X and linked a story about the findings and wrote, “The most unserious snowflake in Congress @RepOgles continues to waste everyone’s time and taxpayer money. Stuff like this is why his re-election campaign owes more than it has. Even Republicans are embarrassed by him.”
Bad Bunny’s performance was the fourth most watched in the history of the Super Bowl with a reported 128.2 million tuning in.

“The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER!” Trump wrote. “It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching throughout the U.S.A., and all over the world.
“This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock market and 401(k)s in History!” he continued. “There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD.”
