Early Life

Kristen Mary Houghton was born on November 5, 1955, in San Diego, California, to Mary Jo Shannon and Robert Houghton. Her parents divorced when she was seven years old, and she was subsequently raised by her mother. She grew up in the San Diego area and later attended Clairemont High School. From an early age, she demonstrated an interest in business and entrepreneurship.

First Marriage and Family

In 1978, Kris Houghton married attorney Robert Kardashian, with whom she had four children: Kourtney (born 1979), Kim (born 1980), Khloé (born 1984), and Rob (born 1987). Robert Kardashian became widely known for his role as a defense attorney during the O.J. Simpson murder trial in 1995. Kris and Robert Kardashian divorced in 1991.

Second Marriage

In 1991, Kris married Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner, who later publicly came out as a transgender woman in 2015 and adopted the name Caitlyn Jenner. Together, Kris and Bruce had two daughters: Kendall Jenner (born 1995) and Kylie Jenner (born 1997). Kris and Caitlyn Jenner finalized their divorce in 2015 after separating in 2013.
