Pitbull plans to turn childhood home into entertainment headquarters

WYNWOOD, Fla. — The South Florida home where global superstar Pitbull grew up will soon house his entertainment empire.

Mr. Worldwide plans to turn his childhood home in Wynwood into Mr. 305 Headquarters.

The area where his modest two-bedroom home was built in 1927 sits on a plot of land off North Miami Avenue and Northeast 28th Street.

The plan is to replace it with an eight-story building with over more than 11,000 square feet, featuring a 9,700 square-foot workspace.

The Brickell-based developer behind the project, Rilea Group, shared renderings of the project Tuesday, saying the property will pay tribute to Pitbull’s roots.

This is the latest way Pitbull is investing in the city that raised him.

Beyond music, the superstar singer founded his tuition-free charter school SLAM Academy in 2013, and two years ago he made college sports history when he purchased the naming rights to FIU’s football stadium.
