Qatar Tourism (QT) has revealed that the 2026 Qatar Calendar will feature a extensive nationwide program during the Holy Month, encompassing heritage, culture, sports, and family entertainment. This initiative, developed by Visit Qatar, aims to reflect the spiritual essence of Ramadan while providing residents and visitors with a variety of meaningful experiences across the country. As a unified national platform, the Qatar Calendar continues to showcase major year-round events, reinforcing Qatar’s status as a dynamic global destination.
The planned festivities are a core component of Visit Qatar’s ongoing destination strategy, which focuses on promoting year-round tourism while honoring cultural authenticity. By fostering community engagement during the Holy Month, the strategy ensures that the local traditions remain at the forefront of the visitor experience. A central highlight of the season is “Ramadaniyat Heenat Salma,” which offers an immersive experience rooted in nature and community at Heenat Salma Farm. This program features artisan installations, farm workshops, Ramadan talks, and wellness sessions held under the open sky.
Cultural festivities and bazaars
The Ramadan season will also include a vibrant bazaar, culinary experiences, stargazing, and dedicated family interactive zones. Special festivities such as Garangao, storytelling, and weekly programs are designed to blend tradition with modern creativity. Key locations across the country will host these events, creating a festive atmosphere that celebrates outdoor living and Qatari hospitality.
Nostalgic culinary and urban experiences
The “Throwback Food Festival” makes its return for a third edition at Old Doha Port, running until the end of the month. This festival offers a nostalgic journey through the culinary themes of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. In the heart of the city, Msheireb Downtown Doha will host “Barahat Ramadan Nights” and “Layali Msheireb,” where the blend of contemporary architecture and traditional ambiance provides a unique setting for iftar and suhoor.

Religious lectures and heritage events
For those seeking spiritual and intellectual engagement, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is presenting the “Noor Ramadan Lectures” at Katara Cultural Village. Simultaneously, Darb Al Saai will host the “Al Razji Event,” which highlights Qatari heritage through folk chants, traditional attire, and authentic crafts. Garangao Night, a beloved mid-Ramadan tradition, will see widespread celebrations at major hubs including Souq Waqif, The Pearl Island, Gewan Island, and Old Doha Port.
Major sporting competitions
Qatar’s sporting calendar remains active during the Holy Month with several prestigious events. These include the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2026 and the QSF 2 PSA Satellite ‘Senior’ (1K) Squash Tournament. Equestrian enthusiasts can look forward to CHI Al Shaqab presented by Longines, the Al Shaqab Cup, and the Longines Global Champions Tour. Additionally, Lusail International Circuit will host the Toyota GR Yaris Qatar Season 2, while basketball fans can attend the Doha International Basketball Tournament and the FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers.
Cultural exhibitions and museum programs
Museums and cultural institutions across Qatar will maintain their exhibition schedules throughout Ramadan. Notable showcases include “Countryside: A Place to Live, Not to Leave” at the National Museum of Qatar and Qatar Preparatory School. The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum will also continue to present “Esports: A Game Changer,” offering a modern cultural perspective during the season.
Ramadan 2026 campaign slogan
Visit Qatar has officially launched its Ramadan 2026 campaign under the slogan “Qatar, Your Home in Ramadan.” This initiative targets local, regional, and international audiences, emphasizing the core values of hospitality, generosity, and togetherness. By building on the success of previous years, the campaign showcases Qatar as a warm and welcoming destination for all who wish to experience the spirit of the Holy Month.
To complement the festive atmosphere, the Qatar Cabinet issued a circular on Tuesday confirming that public sector working hours will be reduced to five hours daily, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, while the private sector is capped at six hours per day.
Beyond the cultural schedule, the Mall of Qatar is hosting a massive “Gaming & Esports Activation” through mid-April, featuring a free-to-play Game Arena and high-stakes competitions to engage younger audiences during the evenings.
Additionally, the Katara Cultural Village has finalized its “retrofitting” preparations, which include hosting a Holy Qur’an memorization contest and the daily firing of the Ramadan cannon in its southern area to mark the end of the fast.
