The Dauphin County Live Concert Series, in partnership with Grand Rising Curations, is bringing more acts to the Riverfront Park.
According to a press release, two new acts have been added to the summer lineup: the alternative pop/soul band Lake Street Dive and the American jam band String Cheese Incident.
Lake Street Dive is made up of vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison. They’ve been making music since 2012 and earned their first Grammy nomination in 2024 for their “Good Together” album.
According to the band’s website, their music hopes to provide a “joyful rebellion” for listeners.
“There’s a lot to be angry about in the world right now, a lot of pain and rage and divisiveness, but it isn’t sustainable to constantly live in that anger—you need something else to keep you going,” Calabrese said. “Joy is a great way to sustain yourself, and we wanted to encourage everyone to stay aware of that. In a way, this album is our way of saying, ‘Take your joy very seriously.’”
The band will also perform alongside the funk and rhythm-and-blues band The Dip. They will hit the stage on July 31.
String Cheese Incident has been making music for three decades, beginning in the 1990s. According to their website, the band “decided to make music on their own terms,” just as the Internet was gaining popularity.
The band prides itself on serving its community through annual events like Electric Forest and Hulaween, which aim to raise money for organizations like HeadCount and Conscious Alliance.
SCI will perform on Aug. 5.
Fans can sign up for early pre-sale access for either concert here. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Feb. 13 at 10 a.m.
