Andria Putzkarade has won the 22nd Junior Eurovision Song Contest representing Georgia.

The 11-year-old, from the western port city of Batumi, bagged 239 points in the final in Madrid with his song, ‘To My Mom’.

“It feels so good,” said Putzkarade when he was announced as winner.

Putzkarade’s victory gives Georgia its fourth win at Junior Eurovision, making it the most successful country in the history of the contest.

Like its adult-oriented counterpart, the winner of Junior Eurovision is decided by both public and jury vote.

‘To My Mom’ picked up 180 points from the juries of the competing countries and a further 59 in online votes from viewers.

Putzkarade began singing at the age of two, later becoming a member of the vocal ensemble group ‘Children of the Sea’ before studying piano at the Zakaria Paliashvili Music School.

Finishing in second place was Portugal, with the song ‘Esperança’ performed by Victoria Nicole. Ukraine came in third place with Artem Kotenko’s ‘Hear Me Now’.

France and Malta rounded out the top five.

The two-hour grand finale was broadcast live from the Caja Majica in the Spanish capital with 17 national broadcasters competing, the highest number since 2021.

But unlike the main Eurovision Song Contest, there is no obligation for the winning country to host the next year’s event so music fans won’t automatically be headed to Georgia in 2025.
