Now Max Is Giving You a Streaming End-of-Year Wrap Too
Spotify can’t have all the fun with its Wrapped event, can it? After all of the music services dropped users’ end-of-the-year highlights, Max is giving you a TV streaming version that’s customized to your viewing: Max Rewind. From today, Max subscribers will receive their own Rewind year-in-review and be “assigned a character according to their watch history.”
It’s time to see your viewing decisions charted out, so you may be surprised by how many hours you spent watching Rhaenyra beef with Alicent, Aegon and Aemond in House of the Dragon, plus a calculated breakdown of your season 1 rewatch. Or Max may show you how much you love binge-watching Adventure Time and Magnolia Table.
The Warner Bros. Discovery-owned platform will send in-app notifications for adult profiles, and the personalized feature also includes a rundown of your favorite brands and genres from 2024 and a handpicked collection of recommended titles that match your assigned character. Keep an eye out for the most popular avatars and other trends on Max for the year.
Though individualized streaming data look-backs aren’t new, Max’s Rewind marks the first time a major TV streaming platform has offered such a feature that’s tailored to your viewing. As with other services, Max users are able to share their Rewind recaps with others via their mobile devices. Meanwhile, Netflix provides a less-shareable, twice-yearly summary called What We Watched which tallies viewership numbers for specific titles around the world.
