You'll Need These 2 Streaming Services to Watch the NFL Christmas Day Games

Christmas falls on a Thursday this year, giving football fans the gift of three NFL games. Like last year, two games will stream on Netflix, with the third streaming on Prime Video as part of Amazon’s regular Thursday Night Football schedule.

The holiday football action begins at 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. PT) on Netflix with the Washington Commanders taking on their NFC East rivals in the Dallas Cowboys. Both the Commanders (4-11) and Cowboys (6-8) have been eliminated from playoff contention, so they’ll be playing for pride (and individual player performance-based bonuses).

Next, it’s an NFC North showdown between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings at 4:30 p.m. ET (1:30 p.m. PT) on Netflix. The Vikings (7-8) are already looking toward next year, but the Lions (8-7) still have a slim chance to pass the Packers and grab the last NFC playoff spot if they win out. And at halftime, Snoop Dogg will perform.

In the Christmas nightcap, the Denver Broncos take on the Kansas City Chiefs starting at 8:15 p.m. ET (5:15 p.m. PT) on Prime Video. For the first time in a decade, the Chiefs (6-9) will miss the playoffs. They’ll try to play the role of spoiler against their AFC West rivals, who are tied with the Patriots at 12-3 for the best record in the conference and playing for the top seed in the AFC and a first-round playoff bye.

If you don’t have Netflix or Prime Video, keep reading because there are other low-cost or free ways to watch or stream Christmas Day football.

Netflix is home to the first two Christmas Day NFL games. The games will be viewable regardless of which Netflix plan you have, including the company’s cheapest $8 per month Standard with ads option.

Amazon

You can watch tonight’s Christmas game and the remaining Thursday Night Football slate this season on Prime Video. For millions of Amazon Prime subscribers, the Prime Video channel is already included at no extra cost. But if you’re not an Amazon Prime subscriber, it might be worth it to shell out the $9 a month for the stand-alone Prime Video service, not only for football but also its impressive selection of shows and movies.

Other ways to watch the NFL Christmas Day games

If you don’t subscribe to Netflix or Prime Video, you can watch all three games using NFL Plus, the league’s $7-per-month streaming service (or $15 a month with Red Zone included). Note that NFL Plus livestreaming is limited to watching on just a phone or tablet, not on a computer or TV.

For the Broncos-Chiefs game on Prime Video, you can also stream for free on Prime Video’s Twitch channel. (Twitch is also owned by Amazon.)

The streaming services listed above allow you to cancel at any time and require a stable internet connection. Looking for more information? Check out our live TV streaming services guide and our picks for the best sports streaming services.
