Amazon’s October Prime Day wrapped up on Oct. 9 but two days later there are still plenty of opportunities to snag incredible discounts on the best TV brands, including Samsung, LG and Sony. Some of these price cuts are extraordinarily generous, reaching as high as $2,000. If you have been wanting to give your home entertainment setup an upgrade, these deals offer great value. Feel free to use some of those savings to treat yourself to a fun deal under $25. Don’t wait too long because these deals likely won’t last much longer.

Note that some Amazon discounts are exclusive to Prime members, but you can find other fall deals at competing retailers like Best Buy and Walmart.

Best post-Prime Day TV deals

Samsung/CNET

It’s rare to find a Samsung TV this affordable. This 4K TV is on the smaller side at 43 inches and while some other brands have 43-inch sets at $200 or even less, if you want a Samsung, this is one of the lowest prices of the season so far. Although Amazon’s list price calls out a $22 discount, it launched at $330 just a few months ago.

Toshiba/CNET

The C350 series TV by Toshiba is currently discounted, making it really inexpensive for a 55-inch TV. This is a Fire TV so this discount isn’t surprising for Prime Day, and like most TVs it can stream shows and movies from apps including Netflix, Prime Video and many more.

Amazon/CNET

Unlike most TVs the Fire TV Omni has built-in microphones to allow for a hands-free experience through Amazon Alexa. The 65-inch size provides a big image for a relatively low price right now. Just note that this deal is only available to Amazon Prime members.

Samsung/CNET

OLED TVs are expensive but with $500 off in the 55-inch size, this Samsung ties its previous low price for 2024 so far. We praised the Samsung S90D for its superb picture quality, easy-to-use interface and great contrast and viewing angles.

LG/Amazon

This is a massive screen size and it’s not every day we see something this large from a major brand like LG for less than $1,000. Yes, you can find other 85- and 86-inch TVs from other brands for a bit less, but this is still a solid deal.

How we choose the best Prime Day TV deals

Many of us at CNET have covered shopping events like Black Friday, Prime Day, Memorial Day and countless others for several years. In that time, we’ve learned how to spot the best deals among a sea of thousands of superficial offers and scams. We surface only the best offers from trusted retailers. When choosing television deals to show you, we look for real discounts, quality reviews and remaining sale time.

  • Real discounts mean genuine savings. We check pricing history for products listed as on sale, so we know when it’s a case of an inflated list price rather than an actual discount.
  • Quality reviews and testing are super important for any product. A discount isn’t worthwhile if it results in a subpar product experience, no matter how much you saved.
  • Remaining sale time is important, too. Some deals are around for only a short time or may be limited in supply. If that’s the case, we’ll let you know upfront so you don’t come back to the deal later only to be disappointed.

Are Prime Day TV deals worth shopping?

October Prime Day basically kicks off the holiday shopping season with hundreds of deals in a variety of categories, especially TVs. Now that the sales are ending, your next shopping event is Black Friday. Prime Day is now officially over, so once the above deals begin to dry up it’s probably worth holding out until Black Friday next month to nab a TV if you can wait.

How do October Prime Day TV deals compare to Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals?

For the last few years, October Prime Day — or Prime Big Deal Days, as it’s officially known — has acted as a catalyst for the holiday shopping frenzy that culminates with Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Due to its proximity, many of the best TV sales started during the October Prime Day sales and run through the end of November. If you can wait until Black Friday, you will probably see more deals total on TVs as retailers make room for new TV sets that tend to come out in January. The gulf in discounts isn’t much to write home about, and many of Black Friday’s best TV deals tend to be extremely limited in terms of both time and supply. If you’ve been looking for a new TV and see something you like and that is within your budget, pick it up during Prime Day sales and avoid the November rush.
