On his first trip since the war in Ukraine began, the Ukrainian president received assurances of German support. Zelensky’s visit to Berlin came after Germany announced a new package of military aid for Kyiv, worth 2.7 billion euros. After a year of choppy relations, Germany is now one of Ukraine’s largest military backers.Â
