Japan October household spending falls 1.3% y/y, better than expected

TOKYO : Japanese household spending dropped 1.3 per cent in October from a year earlier, government data showed on Friday.

That compared with the median market forecast for a 2.6 per cent decline.

On a seasonally adjusted, month-on-month basis, spending increased 2.9 per cent, versus an estimated 0.4 per cent uptick.
