Judaism
Judaism is one of the oldest monotheistic religions in the world, originating among the ancient Israelites and centered on the covenant between God and the Jewish people as described in the Torah.
Judaism traces its origins to the biblical patriarch Abraham and developed through the history of the ancient Israelites, including the Exodus from Egypt and the receiving of the Torah at Mount Sinai, traditionally dated over 3,000 years ago.
The religion's central texts include the Torah, the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, along with the Talmud, a central text of rabbinic teaching and interpretation.
Judaism has profoundly influenced both Christianity and Islam, which share many of its foundational stories and monotheistic principles, and today has roughly 15 million adherents worldwide, concentrated in Israel and the United States.
