Optus customers warned to 'change passwords now' | 9 News Australia



Optus has defended notifying the media of the cyberattack that potentially compromised the information of millions of people, ahead of any customers.

On their website, the telco said spreading word of the attack via media was the “quickest and most effective way to alert as many current and former customers as possible”.

“We are now in the process of contacting customers who have been impacted directly,” the company said.
