A Russian overnight missile and drone attack on Ukraine’s power grid is a response to Ukraine’s use of long-range US and UK weapons inside Russia, President Vladimir Putin has said.
He also threatened to target Kyiv’s “decision-making centres” with Russia’s new ballistic missile.
More than one million Ukrainians have been left without power, following the overnight assault.
This is the second such attack in November. It unfolded over several hours with waves of drones and missiles.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky described the attack as a “vile escalation”.
