ISLAMABAD: The police have sealed an FIR naming the PTI founder chairman Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi into the death of three Rangers personnel during the PTIβs November 26 protest in the federal capital.
Besides Imran and Bushra Bibi, Ali Amin Gandapur and hundreds of PTI workers have been named in the FIR.
Three Rangers personnel died and two were critically injured when a speeding vehicle ran over them.
When contacted, police sources confirmed that a proper investigation had been initiated against those nominated in the FIR.
The FIR lodged on the complaint of Sultan Mahmood, a Havaldar of Pakistan Rangers Sindh and a resident of Gujjar Khan, was registered by SHO Ramna Police Station Sub Inspector Tipu Sultan.
The charges include murder, terrorism, and conspiracy, incorporating 18 legal provisions.
The incident occurred at 2:40am when a speeding vehicle struck the Rangers personnel, including sepoys Gulfam Khan, Shah Nawaz, Naik Ramzan, Naik Arif Hussain, and constable Ashraf Ali. Three died and two were injured.
The FIR also names notable individuals such as Advocate Shoaib Shaheen, Ali Bukhari, Senator Faisal Javed, Asad Qaiser, Atif Khan, Sohail Afridi, Shehram Tarakai, Sher Afzal Marwat, Mishal Yousafzai, Zartaj Gul, Raja Basharat, Alia Hamza, Omar Ayub, Chaudhry Asif, Muhammad Mazhar, and Khalid Khurshid, among others, accusing them of being armed and chanting anti-state slogans.
The vehicleβs driver was described as having a broad face, wide forehead, and wheatish complexion, while the person in the front seat had a fair complexion, light mustache, and grown beard.
Khalid Iqbal adds: Meanwhile, Senior Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah Friday dispatched a complaint filed against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Atta Tarar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Islamabad Police IG, DIG, SSP Security and others under the Criminal Code to the district and sessions judge for hearing.
During the hearing, Sardar Latif Khosa Advocateβs assistants Sardar Khurram Latif Khosa and Syed Iqbal Hussain Shah Gilani appeared in the court and filed the said complaint on behalf of Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and recorded the initial statement.
In the criminal complaint, action has been sought against those named in the complaint.
The complaint also entails a list naming 38 injured and 139 missing PTI workers besides 12 workers who allegedly died during the protest. It was also requested that the criminal complaint be accepted and other parties, including the prime minister, be summoned.
