Scoot unveils new Embraer fleet for 6 locations in Malaysia and Thailand, flights start in May
Scoot will operate flights from Singapore to six Southeast Asian destinations with its new fleet of nine Embraer E190-E2 planes from May this year.
The lineup includes new stops Koh Samui in Thailand and Sibu in Malaysia, along with existing destinations – Hat Yai and Krabi in Thailand, and Kuatan and Miri in Malaysia –the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines recently announced.
The first E190-E2 aircraft will be used on Scoot’s existing flights to Hat Yai and Krabi from May 7, after it is delivered from Embraer’s factory in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil in April, said the airline.
Scoot added that this will increase flight frequencies to both destinations from seven to 10 times a week.
Flights to Koh Samui and Miri are also slated to begin in May while those to Kuantan and Sibu will start from June.
With the new routes to Koh Samui and Sibu, Scoot’s network increased to 69 destinations.
Bookings for flights operated by E190-E2 jets will made progressively available via Scoot’s website, mobile app and other channels. Economy class, inclusive of taxes, will start from S$172 to Koh Samui and S$72 to Sibu.
