Starlink's Standard Kit Is Now Down to $299 Permanently
There’s never been a better time to make the move to Starlink. The satellite internet provider has discounted the price of its equipment to $299 — down from the $599 it usually charges. The offer was initially available until Oct. 5, but Starlink has removed any deadline on the deal.
Previously, the discount was only available in 29 states, where Starlink has “abundant network availability.” Customers in these states will now get a one-time $100 service credit if they buy a dish during this promotional period.
To prevent users from other states from taking advantage of that credit, Starlink noted that, “Customers who change their service address to an address that is not a regional savings area will be billed the amount of the regional savings.” Starlink didn’t respond to CNET’s request for further comment.
The discount comes at a busy time for the satellite company. In July, the company debuted its Starlink Mini satellite dish, which is about the size of a laptop and has a router built in for an on-the-go connection. It also quietly rolled out an invite-only family plan to some US customers in the beginning of August.
