Taiwanese TV host Mickey Huang handed more charges of possessing obscene materials involving minors
Taiwanese TV host Mickey Huang has been handed more charges of possessing obscene materials involving minors. It was reported that during a closed session at the Taipei District Court on Monday (Aug 12), prosecutors provided evidence that Huang had explicit images of 41 minors.
Huang was previously charged with violating Taiwan’s Child And Youth Sexual Exploitation Prevention Act in May, following a raid on his home which occurred as a result of him being accused of sexual harassment by two women. During the raid, prosecutors discovered pornographic content on his hard disk – including obscene materials involving seven minors as young as 11 years old.
It was then reported that, in 2014, Huang joined an online forum that shared child sexual abuse images and had purchased content from said site.
Huang had previously challenged his charges, saying that the videos were obtained before amendments to the Child And Youth Sexual Exploitation Prevention Act, which imposed harsher penalties on offenders.
The next hearing for Mickey Huang’s case will be held at a later date.
