Liverpool’s Portuguese forward Diogo Jota dies in car crash in Spain: Report

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota died in car crash near Zamora, in northwestern Spain, Spanish state-owned TV station TVE said on Thursday (Jul 3), citing local firefighters.

The 28-year-old was a Portuguese international who won the UEFA Nations League twice, scoring 14 goals in 49 appearances.

At Liverpool, he won the Premier League. FA Cup and the EFL Cup, and played in the 2021/2022 Champions League final, where Liverpool lost.

According to his social media posts, he got married on Jun 22.
