Aespa’s Winter to go on hiatus while recovering from lung surgery

Aespa’s Winter will go on hiatus as she recovers from her lung surgery, announced her agency SM Entertainment on Friday (Apr 12).

The agency shared that she had undergone surgery for pneumothorax, which is more commonly known as collapsed lung.

“As (pneumothorax) is a condition prone to recurrence, (the surgery) was carried out as a preventive measure in accordance with her doctor’s opinion, and the decision was made after plenty of discussion,” SM Entertainment added.

“Regarding her future schedule, we will consider Winter’s recovery status our top priority moving forward.”

Winter debuted as a member of Aespa in 2020. The K-pop girl group is set to perform in Singapore for the first time as part of their Live Tour – Synk: Parallel Line on Jul 20.
