China Ambassador’s comments: Beijing affirms ex-Soviet nations’ sovereignty after uproar – France 24

The EU’s three Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) and summoned China’s envoys to account for remarks by Beijing’s ambassador in Paris that have set off a firestorm of controversy. On Friday, Ambassador Lu Shaye questioned the sovereignty of ex-Soviet nations which emerged after the fall of the Soviet Union. But Beijing is now walking back the comments.
