Global National: Dec. 24, 2022 | Extreme weather creates challenges across Canada



Extreme weather has led to a challenging Christmas Eve for many Canadians. Environment Canada has issued weather warnings for most provinces and territories. Thousands of people are without power in several provinces, while airports are dealing with delays and cancellations. And there are now flooding concerns in B.C. as temperatures rise. Neetu Garcha reports.

Brutal winter weather has also frustrated many travellers in America. Even people in states with sunshine and no snow have been affected. Jennifer Johnson explains why.

Women’s rights in Afghanistan have been dealt another blow after the Taliban has ordered all local and foreign non-governmental organizations to bar female employees from work. The move comes days after female students were banned from universities. Mackenzie Gray on the latest attack on women’s rights and freedoms.

As 2022 comes to an end, it’s impossible not to compare how this year started to how it’s closing out.
